FIRST HOMEBRED FULLBLOOD CALF ARRIVES AT CHURCH FARM

We’re very proud of our herd at Cotswold Wagyu, and of our latest new mother who delivered our first homebred fullblood calf last month. The calf – a young heifer called Newnton Henshin Latina, is by a red bull called Bald Ridge Henshin. Her dam - a black called Newnton Latina, is one of our own superb heifers which we bred at home under our embryo transplant programme. The programme means we can develop our herd to deliver specific breed characteristics such as size and scope, plus a predicted high level or marbling and beef tenderness.

Newnton Henshin Latina is suckling well and will remain with her mother for the next seven months. She is already spending time out in our fields enjoying our good spring grass and wholesome fresh air, so she’s off to a great start.
